For the last 10 years, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) investigated and cleaned-up munitions and explosives of concern (MEC) in the Susitna Gunnery Range, an 87,000-acre formerly used defense site in Point MacKenzie. These MEC or “unexploded ordnance” may still be present, so USACE is providing a public awareness training. Learn how to Recognize, Retreat, and Report any suspicious materials with the U.S. Army’s “3Rs” of explosives safety.
