The comment period for input on the recommended alternatives to move forward to detailed alternative analysis for the Parks Highway Alternative Corridor PEL Study, presented at Open House No. 3, closes on Monday, July 10, 2023. This is a federally funded project led by the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF). Due to sustained population growth in the Mat-Su Valley, congestion along the city’s main corridor, the Parks Highway, creates significant traffic delays during peak periods. To assess congestion and delays, DOT&PF is using the Planning and Environmental Linkages process to identify an alternative transportation corridor. Visit the project website
